Western Lycian Way Hiking Tour – 6 Days

Our 15-kilometer hike starts here and follows the Ancient Roman road, offering us breathtaking views of Ölüdeniz and Babadağ. The trail is full of beauty that will make you wonder, "Should I watch my step or admire the scenery?" Because there are very few water sources along the path, it is important to bring plenty of water with you. We start from Ovacık and descend from the foothills of Babadağ to Faralya Village, which sits above Butterfly Valley. Thus, we complete this impressive and scenic hike.

After breakfast, we start our hike towards Kabak Bay, one of Fethiye's most enchanting spots. This route offers a 3-hour exploration featuring impressive scenery and glimpses of village life. Along the way, we will witness the natural beauty of the Mediterranean. At the end of the hike, participants who wish can add an optional 2-hour route towards the waterfall in the valley. This additional walk is entirely optional. Those who choose not to join the hike can simply enjoy the calm beauty and tranquil atmosphere of the bay.

After breakfast, we leave the hotel and begin a steep climb to reach Alınca Village, situated 650 meters above sea level. Though this initial 8 km stage is challenging, it rewards us with stunning views and is among our favorite routes. Upon arriving in Alınca, we take a short break and then have a brief vehicle transfer to set out for Gey Village. The second stage, spanning 6 km, offers breathtaking Mediterranean vistas and the tranquil village life untouched by tourism—a truly magnificent experience. Each step along this route lets us savor nature and tranquility, promising an unforgettable experience.

After breakfast, we take a short transfer by vehicle towards Delikkemer, the final stage of the Lycian Way in this program. Today's hike is quite reasonable in length; following the 2,000-year-old Patara Aqueduct, we delve into the dusty pages of history and visit Patara Ancient City, the most important city of the Lycian League. The city's rich history and archaeological significance make this visit truly special. After our walk, we return to our hotel and end the day at the beach, captivated by the enchanting beauty of the sunset. This moment offers a peaceful finale that makes you forget the fatigue of the day.

After breakfast, we pack our suitcases and leave our hotel. After a 45-minute drive, we arrive at the ancient city of Pınara. Due to the slightly rough road, the city does not receive many visitors; however, with its structures and visual beauties, it is truly a place not to be missed.

The tour of the ancient city will last about two hours, during which we will visit the King’s tombs, Lycian-type sarcophagi, and the Ancient City Theater. The walk starts at the entrance of the city and first passes through the forest, alongside rock tombs, before reaching the upper part of the city. The tombs in the large rock block supporting the city will attract your attention. From here, we continue horizontally to a spot where we can see the amphitheater from above. Then, we'll descend to visit the amphitheater and conclude our walk.

After completing our walk in the ancient city of Pınara, we set off for Dalaman Airport. We arrive at Dalaman Airport around 18:00. Until we meet again on another Bukla Tour trip.
