Cappadocia Trekking Tour

We’ll start the day by heading to Andrew Rogers’ Land Art Sculptures—a place so few people know or visit, you might even wonder, “Is somewhere like this really in Cappadocia?” The Australian sculptor’s massive works themed “Rhythm of Life,” visible even from space, are sure to catch your interest. We’re not going to say much more here—you’ll have to look it up yourself. We’re sure you’ll be curious! :)

After this intriguing open-air gallery, we set off towards Mount Hasan. Once again, we’ll visit lesser-known but definitely must-see spots in Cappadocia. After a scenic break overlooking Ihlara Valley, we head to the Gaziemir Underground City. Unlike others, this city isn’t entirely enclosed and some of it is exposed—it’s high enough that even camels could enter, so it doesn’t feel claustrophobic at all. Then, we’ll reach the nearby village of Güzelyurt.

Turning our tour into something of a gourmet experience, this village features Greek-era houses, Anatolian Seljuk monuments, underground caves, and a lunch that will enrich our journey. Gelveri stew and kapak böreği will leave a memorable taste. No worries for vegans and vegetarians—you won’t go hungry here either! :)

After an hour’s journey, we return to Cappadocia. To cap off the day, we go to the Kızılçukur panorama point for today’s hike and sunset views. But since this is a walking tour, let’s head through the colorful valley trails to Çavuşin. Although the trail itself takes about 1.5 hours, it’s almost impossible not to stop for photos along the way. Sometimes hot air balloons also take off from here in the evening, so if we’re lucky, we might even catch the sunset while on the road. In any case, we’re sure you’ll love it.

Dinner will be at a local restaurant.

After breakfast, our first walk will last about 2 hours and will take place in one of the most beautiful valleys of Cappadocia: Meskendir Valley. With its tunnels, fairy chimneys, churches, and stunning views, you may not want to leave this valley. Afterward, we head to nearby Çavuşin. The fairy chimneys behind the church and the village will surely catch your interest. We can even take a short walk here as well.

After our lunch break, we drive to the starting point of the trail to walk inside Love Valley, which we viewed from above on the first day. The walk will last about 1.5 hours and continue with different views of fairy chimneys; at the end, the valley’s famous gigantic chimneys will be waiting for us for an extended photo break. Lastly, we go to Ortahisar to take photos and then set off toward the airport. We can have dinner before heading to the airport.

Though it’s not mentioned in the program, we’ll have time for some local shopping (pottery workshop, pumpkin seed shop, etc.). And don’t worry, you’ll also have the chance to buy "pastırma," one of the most famous things associated with Kayseri.
