Karya Way Hiking Tour – 6 Days | In the Footsteps of Ancient Trails

After breakfast, we will drive for about 30 minutes and enter the forest road via Hızırşah Village. Leaving our vehicle, we will walk along this road for a while, then meet the trail and begin our descent to Domuzçukuru, the first bay of the day. After taking a long swimming break here, we will ascend through the forest. After about 1.5 hours, we will reach a pass where we will have our lunch and meal break. After the break, we will descend, passing through historic oak and olive trees, to reach Akvaryum Bay and then Kargı Bay. Here, we will meet our vehicle and return to the hotel.

We will set off by vehicle to Palamütbükü, one of the peninsula’s most sought-after bays. The walk will start on a tractor road winding through olive groves and lead us to Belen Village. At the village’s exit, we’ll meet up with a pathway, descending and climbing among pristine coves until we reach Bağlarözü. Here, after a meal and a swim break, we’ll ascend a little to reach the ancient settlement remains of Knidos.

Those who wish may board the vehicle here and wait for us at the Knidos archaeological site. We’ll begin our descent with views of Deveburnu Lighthouse and the distant ruins of the ancient city, making our way to Knidos through coastlines and ancient settlements. After taking a break to admire the sunset, we’ll return to our hotel by vehicle.

We set off by car to start again from where we left the hike the previous day. After entering the ancient city of Knidos, we will ascend to Deveburnu Lighthouse and reach the westernmost tip of the peninsula, where the Mediterranean and the Aegean meet. From here, we will descend briefly back to the ancient city and then climb the hills that form the city's backdrop to transition into the northern lands. We will proceed along the coast of Tekir Bay and take our lunch break at Değirmenbükü. Afterward, we will leave the shoreline and cross a short pass that leads us to the next bay. Upon arriving at the bay, we will ascend along the dirt road and enter the trail toward Murdala Bay, our final stop for the day. After a long and scenic descent, we will reach Murdala Bay. Leaving behind a tranquil, extended day filled with beautiful views, we will return to the hotel by car.

A perfect final day for a beautiful hiking tour. We will set off for Çakal Bay by our vehicle. After arriving at the bay via a dirt road, we will enter the trail. Passing through pine forests, plane trees, oaks, and wild blueberries, and countless tranquil coves, we will end our day at Balıkaşıran, the narrowest point of the peninsula. We guarantee it will be a day when you'll constantly want to swim in the sea and stop to take photos.

It's time to say goodbye. We will leave the hotel and head to Old Datça, which is on our route. After a short walk here, we will visit Karaköy-Körmen, the only spot on the peninsula we haven’t seen yet. 

From here, we'll start heading toward the airport, but our sightseeing isn't over yet. Dalyan and the ancient city of Kaunos, located along the way to the airport, will be our final stops. With its rock tomb views and winding channels, Dalyan itself will be a magnificent finale. After a boat tour and visiting the ancient city, we’ll end our tour at Dalaman Airport following an hour-long drive.
