Day 1 - Amasra - Kuş Kayası Road Monument - Bakacak Hill - Archaeological Museum - Amasra Castle - Fatih Mosque - Çekiciler Bazaar

After departing from Istanbul in the morning, we arrive at our breakfast facility located on the TEM highway following a journey of about 1.5 hours. After breakfast, we continue for another 4 hours and reach Amasra, the first city we will visit, in Bartın province.

Amasra

Before heading down to the town center, our first visit will be the Bird Rock Road Monument, a relic from the Roman era located along our route. This monument was built between AD 41–54 by Gaius Julius Aguilla, who, after serving as commander of the Eastern Provinces Construction Army, was appointed as lifetime governor of Bithynia-Pontus. After visiting the monument, we reach Bakacak Hill. From Bakacak Hill, we enjoy the magnificent view of Amasra that inspired Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror to say, "Lala Lala, is this the Çeşm-i Cihan (The Eye of the World)?" and capture photos of the scenery.

Next, we descend to the coast and enjoy our lunch with Amasra’s famous fish and salad, which are the first things that come to mind when the town is mentioned. Afterwards, we start our tour of Amasra city center. We visit and photograph landmarks such as the Archaeological Museum located within the fortress, the Genoese Gates, Kemere Bridge, and Fatih Mosque. We then take a short break at the famous Çekiciler Bazaar, completing our tour of Amasra. Finally, we head to Daday, where we will stay for two nights. After settling into our rooms, we can explore our facility, which is also a farm. You can ride or photograph the horses. Dinner will be served at our hotel.

Day 2 - Pınarbaşı - Valla Canyon - Horma Canyon - Canyon Hiking Trail - Ilıca Waterfall - Azdavay - Çatak Canyon

After breakfast at the hotel in the morning, we set off for Valla Canyon, which is about 1.5 hours away.

Valla Canyon

To reach the viewing terrace where we will take photos in this beautiful valley, surrounded by steep cliffs that reach heights of 800 – 1200 meters in places, we need to take a short nature walk starting from the village. With its striking nature that sparks the imagination, the terrace overlooking the canyon from above is one of the most exciting points of the trip and offers a wonderful experience. The path is quite comfortable—you can think of it like a walk in the park. Let us tell you in advance, you’ll spend a lot of time here taking photos :)

Afterwards, we return via the same path and have our lunch in the village, enjoying gözleme and ayran made from organic products.

Horma Canyon

After lunch, we head to Horma Canyon. It is approximately 3 kilometers long and almost impossible to traverse without equipment and a guide. This natural wonder features some of the oldest trees in Europe. Thanks to the wooden walkway, one of the most beautiful and successful ecotourism projects in our country, we are able to easily pass through and photograph this very challenging canyon. This wonderful walk is 3 km long and is estimated to take about 1.5 hours. Amid gorgeous views, we have ample opportunity to photograph this natural marvel, considered one of the world’s most unique canyons. Let us warn you—the walking time may increase depending on your photo stops, but luckily, the distance won’t :)

Ilıca Waterfall

Our walk concludes at Ilıca Waterfall at the end of the canyon. The waterfall, which pours down from about 15 meters high and is an extension of the stream forming Horma Canyon, along with its surroundings, offers us a spectacular visual feast. After our Horma tour, we return to our hotel to rest.

Çatak Canyon

Çatak Canyon is included in the program only during spring and summer, when the days are longer. We end our day by visiting the glass terrace built over Çatak Canyon. From this 450-meter-high, 60-ton glass terrace, completed in 2017, we have the opportunity to photograph Çatak Canyon, which is the fourth largest canyon in the world.

Day 3 - Nail-Free Mosque - Government House - Şerife Bacı Monument - Liva Paşa Mansion Ethnography Museum - Clock Tower - Bazaar and Return

After breakfast, we will set out at 08:00. Our first visit today will be to Mahmut Bey Mosque, located on our route. Also known as the Nail-less Mosque, built in 1366 by Candaroğlu Mahmut Bey, it is especially remarkable for its magnificent wooden interior ceiling decorations. After seeing this unique work, we will have a short drive to the center of Kastamonu.

Kastamonu City Center

In the city center, our first stop is the Government House signed by architect Vedat Tek, a pioneer of the New Architecture movement, who is renowned for many monumental works across our country. In the same square, we will see the Şerife Bacı Monument, which commemorates the transport of weapons and ammunition like cannonballs and shells from the İnebolu port to Ankara during the War of Independence. This square also has particular historical significance as the site where the Hat Revolution was declared. Afterwards, we take a short walk to visit the Liva Paşa Mansion Ethnography Museum. Then, we ascend to the Clock Tower to view the whole city and Kastamonu Castle. After enjoying our lunch made up of local dishes, we will have the chance to discover many regional specialties in the market such as Kastamonu's unique pastrami, çekme helva sweets, and woolen textiles. After completing our local shopping, we begin our return journey to Istanbul. Depending on the weather and traffic, we expect to arrive in Istanbul around 20:00.

Looking forward to seeing you on another Bukla Tour trip.

Tour End: 20:00 Istanbul (May vary depending on traffic conditions.)
