Konya Çatalhöyük Sille Tour

After breakfast, we first head to Sille, one of the most interesting places in Konya.

Sille

The first thing that will come to your mind about Sille is Cappadocia. Especially, the volcanic rock formations and the caves dominating the entire slope will make you feel like you are in Cappadocia. During our tour in Sille, we will visit the Aya Helena Church. After a tea and coffee break at Sille Konak, we continue to Meram Vineyards, one of the most beautiful natural areas in Konya, and visit the mosque and tomb of Şeyh Tavus Mehmet-el Hindi (Tavus Baba), who died in Konya during the reign of I. Alâeddin Keykubat, a sage and psychologist who was frequently visited by Mevlana.

Butterfly Valley

After our tour of Sille, our final stop is a tour of the Tropical Butterfly Valley. This unique garden, designed as a flight area for over 1,000 butterflies from more than 15 species, is the largest tropical butterfly garden in Europe and the only butterfly garden in our country. Of the 7,600 square meters of the valley, approximately 1,600 square meters is dedicated to the butterfly flight area. In addition, there are thousands of plant species from more than 80 varieties in the region. The insect museum introduces visitors to insects native to our country. The valley covers quite a large area and includes museums and walking trails. As you walk through the butterfly flight area, you may feel as if you are in a fairy tale land. The surrounding area is lush green, and the tropical plants add a unique atmosphere. You might even feel as though you are in the Amazon rainforest, experiencing a tropical climate at its peak. After our visit to Butterfly Valley,we return to Konya for lunch. Today, we may have the opportunity to try etli ekmek for lunch.

Çatalhöyük

After lunch, we set off for Çatalhöyük, an archaeological masterpiece and the oldest Neolithic settlement site in Anatolia. The Neolithic City of Çatalhöyük, which witnessed the beginnings of agriculture and significant social developments such as hunting, and represents an important stage in the development of humanity marked by the transition to a settled communal life, is located on the Southern Anatolian Plateau, covering approximately 14 hectares. Comprising two mounds, the Neolithic City of Çatalhöyük features wall paintings, reliefs, sculptures, and other artistic elements that symbolize social organization and the transition to settled life. With its unique combination of the size of the ruins, the density of the population, strong artistic and cultural traditions, and continuity over time, Çatalhöyük Neolithic City possesses outstanding universal value. (Çatalhöyük first attracted the attention of the archaeological world when it was discovered that the entrances to the houses were through the roofs—there were no doors on the sides of the houses. All houses were built adjacent to each other, and access from house to house was always via the roof. These roofs were also used for many other daily activities apart from passageways and entrances.)

After completing our visit to Çatalhöyük, we return to our hotel.

İvriz Kaya Anıtı

Kahvaltının ardından otelimizden ayrılıyoruz ve Hitit döneminin en önemli eserlerinden biri olan İvriz Kaya Anıtı’na doğru yola çıkıyoruz. Kral Varpalavas tarafından yaptırıldığı düşünülen bu anıt, dönemin izlerini ve kültürünü keşfetmek için mükemmel bir fırsat sunuyor.

Meke Gölü

Ziyaretimiz sonrası yöresel tatları keşfedeceğimiz öğle yemeğimizi yerel bir restoranda alıyoruz. Yemek sonrasında, dünyada eşi benzeri olmayan bir doğa harikası olan Meke Gölü’ne doğru ilerliyoruz. "Dünyanın nazar boncuğu" olarak bilinen bu krater gölü, çift patlama sonucu oluşmuş ve son yıllarda Konya havzasındaki yeraltı sularının bilinçsiz kullanımı nedeniyle yaz aylarında kuruma riskiyle karşı karşıya kalıyor. Bu eşsiz güzellikteki gölü fotoğraflama imkanı bulacağız. Meke'den ayrıldıktan sonra Konya'ya dönüyoruz ve burada alışveriş için serbest zaman veriyoruz. Serbest zaman sonrası Konya Havalimanı'na doğru yola çıkıyoruz. Türk Hava Yolları'nın 21:40 kalkışlı TK2039 nolu uçuşuyla İstanbul'a dönüyoruz ve bir başka BUKLATUR gezisinde buluşmak üzere vedalaşıyoruz.
