Tour days

Day 1 - Istanbul, Ajaccio

Our guide will meet you at the airport at the scheduled time and our Corsica Island tour begins. Because of the long journey, we won’t push you too hard on the first day. Ajaccio, the island’s most populous city and the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte, has beaches, shops, and numerous restaurants. Depending on our hotel’s availability, you’ll settle into your rooms and have some rest; if rooms aren’t ready, we’ll have breakfast and start visiting the local beaches. After spending the start of the day at a few beaches, we’ll begin our short city tour. We’ll continue exploring along the coast after visiting the Napoleon Bonaparte and Fesch Museums. Later, we’ll head back to the hotel to rest, and then meet again for dinner in the evening.

Day 2 - Swimming in Vivario, Tattone, Vecchio River, Vizzavona

After breakfast, we set off towards the village of Bocognano. Then we leave our vehicle and take the train to Vivario, where we begin our walk. We hike along a ridge leading to the ruins of a French fortress, with views of Mount d'Oro to the west and the Tavignano valley to the east. Afterwards, we descend through the forest to the village of Tattone. After a short rest in the village, a brief steep descent takes us to the Vecchio River, where it may be possible to swim in one of the beautiful rock pools.

Following our swimming break, we continue walking along a rocky path in the valley to Abri Southwell, one of Corsica's oldest known settlements. Then we cross to the other side of the river and make a short climb through the forest to the village of Vizzavona, returning by train to Bocognano to meet our vehicle. Finally, we head back to our hotel in Ajaccio.

Day 3 - Sartene, Filitosa Ancient Site, Roccapina & Cupabia Beaches

This morning, we head early to Sartene, a beautiful medieval town that once suffered invasions by Algerian pirates. Then, we visit the Filitosa Archaeological Site in the Sollacaro region, home to Roman remains from the early Bronze Age back to the Neolithic era, spanning 8,000 years. Discovered in 1946, the area includes settlements, pottery, arrowheads, and menhirs dating back to 3300 BC. After leaving the ancient site, we begin our return journey. On the way, we stop at Roccapina and Cupabia beaches, famous for their deep blue waters. We leave the beach to arrive in Ajaccio by late afternoon.

Day 4 - Porto Bay, Piana Cove, Girolata Cove, Calvi

After breakfast today, we leave Ajaccio and set out towards Calvi. First, we visit the Gulf of Porto, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1983, where we will capture the breathtaking views of Calanques de Piana with its red giant rocks, Girolata Cove, and the Scandola Nature Reserve. Afterwards, we will have the opportunity to swim in these coves. Following our swimming breaks, we continue our journey towards Calvi. Upon arrival in Calvi, we settle into our hotel and then head to Calvi Beach. After enjoying some time at the sea there, we visit Notre Dame de la Serra, located on a hill overlooking Calvi, to take in its panoramic views.

Day 5 - Calvi, Bastia

After having breakfast at our hotel in the morning, we set off by car towards Bastia, the most important city on the island of Corsica. Along the way, we will also visit several towns. First, we stop at the Spano Tower cliffs in the Lumio area. Then, we tour the mountain villages of Corbara, Pigna, and Sant'Antonino. Our last stop before reaching Bastia will be the town of L’Île-Rousse, where we take a break in its main square market.

After settling into our hotel in Bastia, the most important city on the island of Corsica,

our tour of the historic city center begins. We will embark on a historical journey through many sites, including the 17th and 18th century Baroque neighborhoods, the Chapels of Sainte Croix, the Churches of Sainte-Marie and Jean-Baptiste, the old Genoese town, the old port, Scala Santa Chapel and the Holy Stairs, the Genoese Governor's Mansion, and the market square.

Day 6 - Corte, Bastia

Early this morning, we set out towards Corte. Our journey along Corsica National Park, located in the heart of the island, will be accompanied by incredible views. When we arrive in Corte, which once served as the capital of the island, we discover the fortress perched atop rocky cliffs and the stunning scenery of the Tavignano Valley. After a short break here, we embark on our hike around Lac du Melu, which includes part of the renowned GR20 trail—one of Europe’s most challenging hiking routes. After the walk, we cool off in rivers and natural forest pools. Afterwards, we return to Bastia.

Day 7 - Bastıa, Return

After an early breakfast, we set off towards Bastia Airport and say our goodbyes until we meet again on another BUKLATUR trip.
