After meeting at Denizli Airport, we set out in our vehicle toward the first stop of our trip, Kaklık Cave.
Kaklık Cave & Laodicea Ancient City
The cave features fascinating formations such as travertines, stalactites, stalagmites, and thermal waters. The cave, which is a total of 190 meters long, lies 5 meters below ground. Its deepest point is 14 meters. Due to its structure and formation, it is sometimes called the "Underground Pamukkale" or "Cave Pamukkale," as it resembles Pamukkale.
After leaving the cave, we head to the ancient city of Laodicea, which houses one of Christianity's first seven churches, and begin exploring this significant site. We see structures such as Syria Street, the Temple, Severus Fountain, the Agora, and the Laodicea Church. Afterwards, we'll go to central Denizli for lunch. Today's culinary stop will be Gazezoğlu Pide.
Pamukkale & Hierapolis Ancient City
After lunch, we'll take a half-hour drive to Pamukkale and the ancient city of Hierapolis. Our tour begins at the Ancient Theater in this sacred city, which is also called the Holy City, dating back 2,200 years and spread over a vast area. We'll continue our tour using the paths to the Northern Necropolis and from there walk towards the travertines. After visiting structures like Frontinus Street, the Cathedral, the Agora, the Triton Fountain Building, the Latrina, the Sacred Area of Apollo, the Plutonium, the Bath Basilica, and others, we'll arrive at the world-famous Pamukkale Travertines.
After exploring the ancient city, we'll take off our shoes and walk along the warm water path to the section with the pools. Following a photo break here, we'll set off towards Uşak. After a 2-hour drive, we arrive at our hotel. Once we've settled into our rooms, we'll have dinner out in town.
After breakfast, we leave the hotel and start our Uşak tour. Our first stop will be the Uşak Archaeology Museum, now open in its new building. The museum visit, where we'll also see the Karun Treasures, will take about an hour.
Clandras Bridge & Waterfall & Ulubey Canyon
Next, we will take a 40-minute drive to visit the Clandras Bridge & Waterfall. The bridge, located beside a small hydroelectric power plant on the Banaz Stream, is actually an aqueduct that was originally used to carry water to a nearby ancient city. The 24-meter-high bridge and the waterfall right behind it offer stunning photo opportunities. From here, our next destination is the nearby Ulubey Canyon.
The canyon, which has recently gained fame on social media, is said to be the second largest in the world with its 72 km length. Besides the main canyon, there are dozens of side canyons, one of which leads to the canyon where the Clandras Bridge is located. After stepping onto the glass terrace overlooking the canyon, we will have lunch at the facility there. You will also have a chance to taste local dishes during the meal. Afterward, it will be time for the hiking part of our program.
We begin our canyon tour, which will last about 2.5 hours, by following the trail that descends into the canyon. The descent and climb take about 15 minutes each. The canyon floor is perfectly flat, making the walk quite relaxing. A little heads-up: while the stream flowing through this beautiful scenery does not smell pleasant at first, you’ll stop noticing it within five minutes.
Blaundus Ancient City & Güney Waterfall
After the canyon hike, we'll head to the ancient city of Blaundus. Our reason for visiting this site is the ruins of an old administrative building, reminiscent of Stonehenge in England. The city, which dates back to the 3rd century BC, is thought to have been founded by the Macedonians. Surrounded on three sides by deep valleys, Blaundus has only one entrance, and just past this entrance is the ancient stadium.
Now we reach the end of our Uşak tour. On the way to Denizli Çardak Airport for our return, we'll make one last stop at Güney Waterfall. This waterfall, which we visit when the water is plentiful, drops from a height of 20 meters. Although it's not a roaring waterfall, it has a unique charm as it flows over moss-covered rock walls. After the waterfall, we have a 1.5-hour drive to the airport. We arrive at Denizli Airport around 18:00. Unfortunately, the tour has come to an end and it's time to say goodbye. Ayazin & Kümbet Köyü - Yazılıkaya
İlk olarak Ayazin'e gideceğiz. Burada Bizans Dönemi'nden kalan kayaya oyulmuş kiliseler ile Peribacaları'nı göreceğiz.
Ardından aracımıza binip aslında bir höyük olan Kümbet Köyü'ne gideceğiz. Höyüğün en tepesine çıkıp; burada Solon Mezar Anıtı'nı görüp araca geri dönüyoruz.
Sonrasında Yazılıkaya'ya ulaşıyoruz. Yazılıkaya'da Midas Anıtı, Frig dönemine ait sarnıçlar, Attis Tapınağı, Anıtsal Frig Mezarı ve Midas Tahtı göreceğiniz ve hikayelerini dinleyeceğiniz eserlerden bazıları.
Sonrasında AROG filminin çekildiği Memeç Kayalıkları’na ve Aslankaya Anıtı’na gidiyoruz. Bu anıt Frig anıtlarının en önemlilerinden. Ardından Çavdarhisar’a gidiyoruz. Burada ilk olarak görkemli Zeus Tapınağı ile bilinen Aizonai Antik Kenti'ni geziyoruz. Antik Kent ziyaretinin ardından Kütahya Zafer Havalimanı’na doğru yola çıkıyoruz. Türk Hava Yolları'nın 16:50 kalkışlı TK2055 nolu uçuşuyla İstanbul'a dönüyoruz ve bir başka BUKLATUR gezisinde buluşmak üzere vedalaşıyoruz.
